Welcome to life & play

Rowheath Pavilion was opened by Cadbury’s in 1924, originally designed as a changing facility, community hall, tea room and garden club , with extensive parkland for the benefit of the Cadbury workers. George Cadbury wanted to provide both “work & play” for his employees and Rowheath Pavilion was the “play”, with many acres of sports playing fields, the bowling greens, and the fishing lake. The Garden Club included tree shaded walks, croquet, golf greens, the bandstands and an open air stage. The Pavilion also hosted elaborate balls and dinners, and the whole area was designed for the benefit of the Cadbury workers and their families; it was also extensively used by non-Cadbury workers.

We want Rowheath to excel in providing a place for all the people of Bournville to build a healthy and happy community. Please take a look at our About page, to learn more about the project. Or click on History to find out more about Rowheath Pavilion. We also have various regular events at Rowheath Pavilion. If you want to see what is happening click Events & News. Update – we have reached our first goal

We have successfully reached our target for the first phase of the project: The new changing rooms. With fantastic hard work from members of the Sports Council and support from Bournville FC and Crusaders FC we have been awarded money from the Premier League and the FA Facilities Fund alongside donations from Bournville Village Trust, Edward Cadbury Charitable Trust and Section 106 money we have been able to start work on the new changing rooms. These will aim to be completed mid-November 2014.

We now need your help to fundraise for the second phase of the project – the new café! You can either donate, get involved or just come to one of the events we are running and show your support!
